Beautiful Day for a Motorbike Ride
It was an unusually sunny day in St. Gallen. The weather so far in St. Gallen had been quite unpredictable and as such there weren’t many good days to go motorbiking. Therefore Jeremias, being a real thrill seeker, thought it to be the perfect day to take the first bike ride of the summer. Immediately after finishing German lessons, Jerry picked me up and we headed home to prepare to go on an evening ride through an area called “Schwägalp”.
Säntis der Berg
Once we were ready we headed out. Our first stop was the Säntis. “Säntis der Berg”, as it is so affectionately titled, is the culminating point of the Appenzell Alps in northeastern Switzerland. It is quite a popular tourist destination as it is a magnificent mountain. This popular mountain is known for its breathtaking views from the top and is known to boast views of Austria, Italy, Germany, Lichtenstein and France on a clear day. Although the snow was almost non-existent on the mountain, I could still see the great appeal it held for tourists in the winter season.
Beautiful Landscape of Schwägalp
We continued our trip just enjoying the beautiful landscape and scenery. The beauty of the Swiss landscape was unbelievable! Who would have though that below all that snow and behind all the fog and gloominess lay hidden such beautiful nature? Riding through the region it became more evident than ever as the sun shone over the wonderful landscape.
It was certainly a beautiful introduction to the Swiss summer! Our ride through Schwägalp was definitely a memorable one.
