Quick Navigation :
1) Portland, Jamaica: Great Huts Resort
A couple’s getaway in the tropical Caribbean island of Jamaica.
Sounds divine, doesn’t it?
Now, I know Jamaica is quite a popular travel destination for couples to rendezvous. However, here’s my tip to you as a local of the island. Skip the super touristy cities of Ocho Rios and Montego Bay entirely and head to the more beautiful and secluded parish of Portland for a real romantic getaway.
Although Portland has countless great places to book a couple’s getaway, Great Huts Resort was our absolute favourite. Trust me, this resort is the epitome of romantic vacation hideaway!
Perched on a cliff overlooking the magnificently blue Caribbean Sea, this exotic Jamaican eco-resort boasts a myriad of natural huts and tree houses all hidden in its lush jungle-esque landscape. If you and your beau are nature lovers I guarantee, you’ll enjoy Great Huts Resort.

2) Guarda, Switzerland: The Guarda Lodge
Nestled between the rolling mountains of the Swiss Alps and beautiful meadows, lies the quaint town of Guarda. This charming little village in Engadin Switzerland is the perfect romantic getaway for couples trying to escape overcrowded tourist destinations in Switzerland.

My partner and I discovered the beauty of this small town while searching for a quiet romantic weekend getaway for our birthday celebrations. We chose to stay at a cute B&B hotel, Guarda Lodge, which offered the most stunning views of the Swiss Alps. This B&B turned out to be the ideal place of departure for Jerry and I to enjoy relaxing walks through the gorgeous town. In summer you can even enjoy mountain bike tours or explore the beautiful Swiss National Park.

3) Blue Mountains, Jamaica: Spa at Serendipity
Fancy a relaxing spa day with your lover?
Then the Spa at Serendipity in the cool Jamaican Blue Mountains is a wonderful choice for a romantic vacation getaway with your beau.

Hidden perfectly among the lush greenery, the Spa at Serendipity will make you to feel one with nature. After all, the spa’s mantra is, “Relax in Nature”.

Jerry and I enjoyed a very soothing couples massage together all while getting a fantastic view of the river and small waterfall nearby.

4) Playa Giron, Cuba: Hostal El Castillito
If you love private romantic beach getaways, Playa Giron in Cuba is a great couples vacation spot for you and your beau. This sleepy beach town is less frequented by travellers than other popular Cuban towns.
Of all the towns my partner and I visited on our trip to Cuba, Playa Giron definitely scored the most points. It was the perfect vacation spot for us to relax and enjoy time to ourselves. Our B&B, El Castillito , was a quick 8-minute walk from the local beach, Playa Coco.

Imagine laying out on the white sands of this beautiful tropical beach with barely any tourists in sight.
Pretty perfect if you ask me!

5) St. Mary, Jamaica: Strawberry Fields Together
Another beautiful yet woefully underrated place to visit in Jamaica is the parish of St. Mary. Not far from the tourist hub of Ocho Rios in St. Ann, this parish offers many wonderful places for couples to relax and enjoy a romantic vacation for two.
One of the best vacation spots we’ve come across in the parish is the lovely Strawberry Fields Together. Far from conventional and every bit of boho chic, Strawberry Fields Together offers respite for couples who crave the perfect romantic beach vacation. The perfectly blue, crystal clear waters of the resort’s two private beaches makes it the ideal spot for you and your beau to escape in tropical paradise.

Absolutely nothing is more soothing than waking up to the sound of crashing waves in the morning.

Trust me, Strawberry Fields Together was so nice Jerry and I had to do it twice!
6) Paros, Greece: Paros Paradise Apartments
I think it’s safe to say that Greece is on almost everyone’s bucket list of places to vacation. Sadly, it can be an absolute nightmare finding your way through the mad crowds of tourists. There hardly seems a place to simply relax and enjoy quiet time with your lover.
Well, if you’re trying to escape the throngs of tourists who flock the country yearly, a trip to the less popular but equally as beautiful island of Paros is an excellent choice. Paros is perfect for lovers who prefer a less chaotic and more private couples holiday.
At least that’s what my partner and I discovered on our two-week vacation through Greece . Our stay at the Paros Paradise Apartments was nothing short of relaxing.

Did I mention that it was only a 3-minute walk from the beach?
Also, a bit further away, but definitely worth the trip, is the Molos Beach. The crystal-clear waters of this beach were only surpassed by its seclusion from tourists.

I hope you’ve been inspired to book that perfect romantic vacation you’ve been searching for with your beau! Safe travels!

They all sound amazing!! Would love to try Cuba someday soon, but at the moment, not sure if US citizen can just visit for a vacation – I know there are restrictions. Again, gorgeous pictures.
Thanks again Loretta! 🙂 Americans are definitely allowed to visit, that I’m sure of. There were many on my plane when I was going. I believe it’s just a little bit trickier but definitely possible. I have a board on Pinterest dedicated all to to Cuba. I pin many useful resources including articles related to Americans and how to make it possible to visit despite Trump’s reversal on Cuban regulations. You should check it out if you’re interested!
